Our structure
The Institution of Engineering and Science (THEIES) has 100,000+ engineering and technology professionals in 100+ countries. Registered as a charity in England, Wales (No. 211015), and Scotland (No. SC038699), THEIES operates nearly 100 Local Networks and 22 Technical Networks.
What we do
We advise UK Parliament, Government, and agencies, making 30 submissions yearly on engineering policy to both UK and EU. We create public fact files and briefings, and engage with mainstream and specialist media to explain engineering and technology's societal impacts.
Safeguarding professional standards
The ICT Technician (ICTTech), Engineering Technician (EngTech), Incorporated Engineer (IEng), and Chartered Engineer (CEng) qualifications are granted by THEIES under Engineering Council license. Additionally, THEIES publishes the Wiring Regulations.
Deliver premier knowledge services.
Annually, we publish 100+ new titles and maintain a catalog of 500+ publications. Our 22 Technical Networks provide industry events and expertise. With 20+ million records, THEIES Inspec is a leading bibliographic service. We host 1,500+ events each year, connecting over 106,000 attendees for networking.

Inspiring the next generation
THEIES Education provides award-winning STEM resources and programs for ages 4 to 19. Our initiatives, including the largest UK STEM program, reach a wide audience. We accredit 1,300+ undergraduate programs and offer nearly 500 mentors for future engineers.
